Where you may find all things creative...

My Art Process

My drawing process takes place in several steps! Depending on the “level” – I can take a few days to a week.

  • References and Research. Whatever I am drawing, I need to have ideas visually ready for me. So, I take a few hours to do some research – whether that be clothing, landscape, or just aesthetics, having references ready allows me to do my best on a project. In terms of commissions, I ask those commissioning to provide me with references so that I may create the best drawing for them.

  • Sketches, sketches, sketches. After doing all that research and gathering all the references, it comes to the sketches. There are always multiple of them made through different ideas and perspectives. After this, I look over multiple sketches and choose which speaks the best to me. In terms of commissions, the commissioner and I would go over the sketches I have and they would choose their favorite amongst them. Such a sketch would be what I continue with – and may be edited later.

  • Lineart. When the sketch is finalized and I like it, the beautification of its lines begins. I smooth, shade, and glamourize the sketch lines and ready it for the next step. In terms of commissions, a few last-minute edits can be made during this step. But this in the FINAL STEP changes can be made FOR FREE.

  • Flattening of Colors. One of my favorite steps is playing around with the flat colors of an image. What color spectrum am I going to use, are we doing complementary? The opposite? It's the moment when the image begins to come to life. In terms of commissions, the color palette is something they decide on or is based on the references. If it is something they wish for me to decide, they can let me know!

  • Shading. Though it looks lovely with just the flat colors, shading adds a little oomph to a drawing. Yet again, this is something that is played around with depending on the palette and/or commissioner.

  • Rendering and adding the details. Lighting, landscape, emphasis, etc. Rendering contains all the magical elements added in at the end to become a complete project! It allows me moments of just looking over a piece and deciding if I want a little something here and there just to make a drawing that much more fun and wonderful. A full rendering is something the commissioner has a hand in – what effects? Do they want a background or landscape? These are all things that are discussed between me and them.

FAQ

WHAT TABLET AND PROGRAMS DO YOU USE FOR DIGITAL ART?

I currently use a Huion Tablet KAMVAS 13 and Clip Paint Studio for all my digital art. Though I have been drawing digitally for a few years, I’m still new to tablets.

WHAT ARE YOUR MAIN BRUSHES?

I like to play around with different “mediums”. With brushes for digital, I’m still finding my niche. But my current favorites would be; G-Pen and Fili Lineart Brush (lineart); All levels of Watercolor, Colouring Brush (bunnyclvb), and Gouache (coloring); Textured blender, Gouache blender, and Fluffy blender (namelessarchivist) (blending). I’m always willing to try others and learn more.

DO YOU DO TRADITIONAL ART?

Yes! I like to play around with pens, markers, and pencils in my sketchbook and I will occasionally upload these as well. I wish to paint again, but playing with mediums to complete an image is my favorite.

HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN DRAWING?

I can remember drawing since I was a child. I used to carry sketch and coloring books with me and even made a little drawing club in 5th grade. I’ve fallen out of it here and there. It's something that I have adored all of my life. It helps my family is super duper supportive of me and I love doing it.

MAY I USE YOUR ART?

Yes and no. People who wish to use my art as their icon or header, please go ahead! I am happy to have it shared, but, remember to credit me somewhere in your description so that others may know where it came "from" or "about". But, do not repost or use my art for any commercial items. At this time, I am only drawing for personal use – but this may change in the future!

WHAT INSPIRED YOU/INSPIRES YOU TO DRAW?

So many things. My family. My cats. The books I read and the shows I watch. I grew up loving anime/animated films and reading three books a week – and I always had this drive to bring what I visualized to life. It was also a way to express myself and be in my zone.

WHERE CAN I FIND YOUR ART?

I post my art on several social media websites, all of which you can find above! I also keep my progress on different projects up to date and other fun things via my socials.

If you have any other questions, please feel free to email me.
